What it is
A concentrated extract of monk’s pepper berries — Vitex agnus-castus — a Mediterranean shrub used in European herbal medicine for centuries specifically in the context of hormonal balance. Mibelle developed it as a cosmetic active aimed squarely at hormonally driven skin change. It is COSMOS and NATRUE approved, preservative-free and alcohol-free.
Why it matters for changing skin
Most “anti-ageing” actives treat wrinkles. The complaint we hear most often is different: skin that has gone thin. Less cushion. Less bounce back. A crepey quality across the cheek and jaw that no amount of hydration fixes, because the problem is not water — it is density.
Skin loses roughly 30% of its collagen in the first five years after menopause. Densorphin is one of the few cosmetic actives developed to address that specific loss rather than surface lines. Mibelle’s clinical work was run on women and men over 50, and reported significant increases in both skin density and elasticity versus placebo, with elasticity improvement measurable at 14 days and density gains at one month.
A note on how this works. Mibelle’s mechanistic research describes the extract stimulating the skin’s own local synthesis of DHEA — a hormone precursor that declines through menopause — and acting on β-endorphin pathways, since the berry contains compounds that interact with opioid receptors.
