What it is
Pressed from the seeds of Camellia oleifera, the tea-oil camellia. Known in Japan as tsubaki oil, where it has been used on skin and hair for centuries. Chemically it is dominated by oleic acid — typically above 80%, a profile closer to olive oil than to most seed oils — with a naturally light, fast-absorbing feel that its fatty acid composition alone does not fully predict.
Why it matters for changing skin
It solves the central problem of oil-based skincare for this demographic: mature skin needs more lipid, but nobody over 50 wants to wear a heavy, slow oil on her face at 9 a.m. Camellia gives high oleic replenishment with a texture that disappears. That is why it anchors The Innovator, and why it is also the largest botanical oil in The Reset — where it does the actual work of dissolving sunscreen, makeup and sebum on contact.
