What it is
Jojoba is a liquid wax ester, not a triglyceride — which makes it chemically unlike every other botanical oil in our range and unusually like human sebum. Human sebum is roughly 25% wax esters. Nothing else in the plant kingdom is this close. It also means jojoba does not go rancid the way seed oils do; its oxidative stability is exceptional, which matters in a 16-oil blend where one unstable component can compromise the whole.
Why it matters for changing skin
When sebum production drops after menopause, what skin loses is not just “oil” in a general sense — it is specifically the wax ester fraction that gives sebum its protective, non-occlusive character. Jojoba refills that exact gap. It sits on skin the way skin’s own output does: present, protective, but not greasy and not pore-clogging.
The clear deodorized grade is used deliberately. Raw jojoba carries a nutty odour that would fight with the sandalwood and vanilla in The Innovator.
